Cheap flights from Zurich to Poznan

November is the cheapest month on this route, and the lower fares usually stretch from late autumn into early winter, when fewer people travel between Switzerland and Poland. Summer and the weeks before Christmas are the expensive stretches, and the price calendar here runs from September through July, so late-summer dates need a separate look. Midweek departures tend to undercut Friday and Sunday, when weekend city breaks push demand up. Keep an eye on Polish public holidays and Swiss school breaks if you can move your dates.

Easyjet is the low-cost name on this route, so read the fare rules closely and check what is included before you add a bag or a seat. The full-service carriers — LOT Polish Airlines, KLM, Swiss, Lufthansa Cityline, Brussels Airlines, Air France, Scandinavian Airlines and ITA Airways — sell the journey as one ticket with a connection, which matters if a delay makes you miss the onward leg. Cityjet also appears on this route, usually on regional connections, and its fares sit somewhere between the two models.

Poznan Lawica is the city's only airport and sits a short ride from the centre, close enough that a taxi or a ride-hailing car is a realistic option, with city buses running into town as well. The terminal is small, so arrivals and baggage reclaim move quickly. On the Zurich end you leave from Zurich Airport, the city's single airport, which keeps departure simple. Watch the transfer airport on your itinerary rather than the destination, because that is where a short connection will cost you. If you land late, check the last bus times before you leave the terminal.

• Every itinerary between Zurich and Poznan involves a change of plane, so check the connection time before you pick the fare.
• If you book Easyjet, read what the fare includes before you add a checked bag or a seat.
• When a trip is stitched together from two separate tickets, a missed connection is your problem rather than the airline's.
• Make sure your passport or identity card is valid for the whole trip, since you cross a border between Switzerland and Poland.
• Zurich has one airport, so your departure point is fixed, but confirm which airport your connection goes through.
• For the lowest fares, aim for November and stay flexible about the day of the week.
