Cheap flights from Wroclaw to Stockholm

September is the cheapest month on this route, and it is also a comfortable one for walking around Stockholm. The price calendar runs from September through June, so the height of summer is not covered — if you want July or August, plan further ahead. Late autumn, the dark weeks around Christmas and New Year, and the Swedish school breaks all push fares up, and Easter is busy too. Spring tends to be quieter and better value. If your dates are flexible, compare a midweek departure with a weekend one and let the calendar decide rather than guessing.

Ryanair and Wizz Air are the low-cost names on this route, and they are usually the first ones people compare. LOT Polish Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss sell full-service tickets, which normally mean a connection through their own hubs and a different set of baggage rules. Helvetic Airways and Air Dolomiti appear as regional partners on some of those connecting itineraries. On a low-cost fare, check what the ticket actually includes before you add a hold bag or a seat. On a full-service fare, what is included depends on the fare family, so read the conditions instead of assuming.

Stockholm comes with two airports in the fare results. Arlanda is the main one, north of the city, with the quickest links into town: the express train, the commuter train and several coach services all run to the central station. Skavsta International sits well outside Stockholm, in the countryside to the south, and the usual way in is a coach timed to meet the arriving flights and drop you at the city terminal. Check which airport your fare uses before you book, because a low fare into Skavsta can mean a long transfer, and a late arrival leaves you with fewer options. From Arlanda, the train is fastest; the coach is simpler if you are carrying a lot.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Wroclaw flights leave from Strachowice, so make sure the airport on your ticket matches before you pay.
• Decide whether you want a non-stop or a connecting ticket, and look at the total travel time rather than just the departure hour.
• On a low-cost fare, add up the cabin bag, the hold bag and seat selection before you compare it with a full-service ticket.
• If you book two separate tickets to save money, remember that a missed connection is your problem, not the airline's.
• Check that your passport or national ID card is valid for the whole trip, since you will show it at the gate.
• Book around September if you can be flexible, and stay clear of the Christmas and school-break peaks.
