Cheap flights from Wroclaw to Manila

August is the cheapest month on this route, so if your dates are flexible, aim for late summer. Fares are listed for nearly every month of the year, from September through to August, so you can compare a full year before you commit. Midweek departures and connections with a longer stop at the hub usually cost less than weekend ones. Steer clear of the weeks around Christmas and New Year, when seats to the Philippines fill up with people visiting family, and book well ahead if you travel then.

Nothing flies this route non-stop, so every option is a connecting one. LOT Polish Airlines flies you out of Strachowice and feeds you through Warsaw. Lufthansa, with Lufthansa Cityline, Air Dolomiti and Swiss, routes you through Frankfurt, Munich or Zurich. KLM Cityhopper and Cityjet feed Amsterdam, Scandinavian Airlines covers the northern hubs, and Air Baltic and Helvetic Airways turn up on some connections. These are full-service carriers rather than low-cost ones, so a checked bag and meals are usually included on the long leg, while the short European hop may have a lighter allowance.

All flights land at Ninoy Aquino Intl, the only airport serving Manila. It sits inside the city rather than out in the countryside, so the ride to the centre is short in distance but can take a while in Manila traffic. Taxis, ride-hailing apps and hotel shuttles are the usual ways into town, so agree on the fare or use the meter before you set off. Terminals are split between airlines, and moving between them is not always walkable, so check which one your flight uses and leave time if you connect onward.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Wroclaw has a single airport, Strachowice, so there is no second departure point to compare.
• Check whether your connection is on one ticket or two, since on separate tickets a missed flight is your own risk.
• Confirm the baggage allowance on each leg, as regional partners can differ from the long-haul carrier.
• Check your passport validity and the entry rules for the Philippines before you book.
• Compare August with the months around it, since that is where the lowest fares usually sit.
• Find out which terminal at Ninoy Aquino Intl you land at, as they are not all in one place.
