Cheap flights from Warsaw to Rome

October is the cheapest month on this route, and the price calendar usually shows fares easing once the summer crowds leave and the Roman heat drops. Late spring and early autumn are the sweet spots for walking the city, while July and August are the busiest and priciest, when Italians head for the coast and both airports fill up. Midweek departures, Tuesday and Wednesday especially, tend to cost less than Friday or Sunday flights. Book a few weeks ahead for spring and autumn, and earlier for the Christmas and Easter peaks, when Warsaw and Rome both travel heavily.

Rome has two airports and they behave differently. Fiumicino is the larger one, out to the south-west of the city, with a fast train to Termini plus slower regional trains, coaches and taxis. Allow time for the transfer either way, and remember that a late arrival leaves you with fewer buses running.
