Cheap flights from Warsaw to Phan Thiet

November is usually the cheapest month for this route, and fares stay low through the months around it, from September into February. That window covers the end of the rainy season in southern Vietnam and the start of the drier, cooler months, and it is also when Warsaw turns cold and demand for winter sun rises. Midweek departures, Tuesday to Thursday, usually cost less than weekend ones. Peak holiday weeks push fares up, so if your dates are fixed, book early rather than waiting for a late deal.

Several carriers sell tickets on this route, and all of them involve at least one stop. Emirates, Lufthansa, Austrian and LOT Polish Airlines are full-service, so checked baggage, meals and seat selection are usually part of the fare, though the cheapest booking classes may not include seat choice. Fly Dubai is a low-cost carrier that flies via its hub, where you pay extra for checked bags and food. Air Dolomiti is a regional partner, so its legs are often sold as part of a longer Lufthansa itinerary. On any connecting ticket, check whether the whole trip is on one booking or separate ones, because with separate tickets you collect your bags and check in again.

Phan Thiet has its own airport, and it is not right in the middle of the city, so plan on a road transfer at the other end. Taxis and pre-booked hotel cars are the usual ways in; ride-hailing apps are an option, though airport pickups can be hit and miss. Agree the fare or confirm the app price before you get in, and keep your hotel address written down for the driver. If your connection lands late, arrange the transfer in advance instead of sorting it out on arrival. Some itineraries sell a flight to a larger Vietnamese city with a coach or train ride afterwards, so check exactly which airport your ticket ends at.

• Decide whether you are leaving from F. Chopin or Modlin, since Warsaw's two airports are far apart and the transfer between them takes time.
• Check the baggage allowance on the low-cost leg of your ticket, because a cheap fare often excludes a checked bag.
• Confirm whether your connection is on one booking or two, as separate tickets mean collecting your bags and checking in again.
• Check Vietnam's entry rules and how long your passport needs to stay valid before you pay for anything.
• Book early if you are travelling in the peak holiday weeks, when fares on this route climb.
