Cheap flights from Warsaw to Guilin

September comes out cheapest on this route, and the autumn months around it stay reasonable. Spring brings rain and mist over the hills, summer is hot and busy with domestic Chinese travellers, and winter is cool, grey and quiet. Midweek departures from Warsaw tend to be calmer and cheaper than Friday or Sunday flights. Book well ahead for travel around Chinese New Year and the early October national holiday, when seats out of Europe fill quickly and connections get tight.

No airline flies Warsaw to Guilin non-stop, so every option here is a connecting itinerary. Gulf carriers such as Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and Fly Dubai route you through their hubs, Air China connects via a Chinese city, and European carriers including Lufthansa, Austrian, Scandinavian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Aegean Airlines and Nordic Regional Airlines feed you into a longer Asian flight. Check what your fare includes: low-cost tickets usually charge extra for baggage and seat selection, while full-service fares more often bundle a checked bag and a meal, and on a through ticket the airline looks after your connection if a leg is delayed.

Guilin has a single airport, so there is no doubt about where you land. It sits outside the city, and the usual ways in are the airport shuttle bus, a taxi or a ride-hailing app; the drive takes you past the outskirts before you reach the centre, so leave time for it after a long journey. Immigration and baggage claim can be slow when several wide-body flights land together, and if your connection was on a separate ticket you will need to sort out any missing bag yourself. Keep your onward address in Chinese characters to show a driver.
