Cheap flights from Warsaw to Cairo

September is the cheapest month on this route, and the months on either side of it hold up well. Cairo is at its most comfortable outside the peak of summer, when sightseeing moves to early morning and late evening; winter days are mild and busy with visitors. Warsaw is cold and dark from late autumn into spring, so that is when a break in the sun appeals most. Midweek departures are usually quieter than weekend ones, and seats fill fast around Christmas, New Year and Easter, when business travel and family visits overlap. Polish school breaks and Ramadan and the Eid periods in Egypt both shift demand, so check your dates against the two calendars.

LOT Polish Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian and Qatar Airways are full-service, where a checked bag, a meal and a connection on one ticket usually come with the fare. Direct flights exist here, but many of the options you will see are connections — Lufthansa and Austrian through their hubs, Aegean through Athens, Qatar Airways through Doha. On one through ticket your bags are checked to Cairo; on two separate tickets, that protection disappears.

Flights land at Cairo International, the city's main gateway, on the northeastern edge of the capital. It is not far from the centre by distance, but traffic decides how long the transfer takes, so allow generous time on arrival. The usual ways in are a taxi from the official rank, a ride-hailing car, a pre-booked hotel transfer or one of the airport bus services; the taxi rank and the app pick-up points sit in different places, so decide before you walk out. Cairo International has more than one terminal, and which one you need depends on your airline, so check your ticket rather than assuming. Keep some cash for the ride and agree the fare or the meter before you set off.
