Cheap flights from Urumqi to Guangzhou

Book early once your dates are fixed, because the cheapest seats on popular services usually go first and late changes cost more. November is the cheapest month in the listed fares, while the available fare months run from October through June. Check the price calendar around school holidays and the destination's summer, since demand and heat can both push up the cost of a trip. Midweek departures and less popular flight times are often cheaper than weekend and evening services.

Start with what the fare includes: some tickets bundle checked baggage, seat choice and changes, while others charge for each as an extra. The route has direct flights, and the listed carriers include China Southern Airlines, Air China, Shanghai Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Spring Airlines, Sky Jet Aviation Ltd, Cathay Pacific and Air Astana. Compare the rules for bags, seats, meals, changes and missed connections before you choose, because a low headline fare can cost more once extras are added.

Arrange your onward transport and where you will stay before you land, because Baiyun is a large airport and the city centre is not at the terminal. From Baiyun you can usually use the metro, airport buses or taxis, and the right choice depends on your luggage, group size and arrival time. Check which terminal your flight uses, keep your booking and address details offline, and allow time for baggage reclaim and the transfer into Guangzhou.
