Cheap flights from Umea to Malmo

February is the cheapest month shown for this route. December and January are likely busier with Christmas and school holidays, while June brings summer travel across Sweden, so fares can move up then. Weekdays often price lower than Fridays and Sundays, and morning or midday departures can beat the commuter peaks. Book well ahead once your dates are fixed, because connecting seats are limited; if you can travel in November or March, you may find quieter options outside the holiday rush.

Scandinavian Airlines, Cityjet and Braathens Regional Aviation are the carriers listed for this route; start by comparing Scandinavian Airlines, then Cityjet and Braathens Regional Aviation, since all options connect and inclusions vary. All three operate connecting itineraries between Umea and Malmo Intl., so the difference is usually fare protection, baggage and flexibility rather than nonstop convenience. Check whether hold luggage, seat choice, changes and meals are included, and whether both legs are on one ticket or separate reservations. A lower headline fare can cost more once bags and connection risk are added.

Malmo Intl. is a transfer from the centre rather than a city-centre stop, so sort out the onward journey before you land. Airport buses, taxis and pre-booked cars are the usual options, and the ride feels longer if traffic is heavy or you arrive late. Check which terminal and transport stop your ticket implies, and keep a buffer if you have a separate onward journey. The city is compact once you are in town, but the last stretch from the airport is not walkable with luggage.
