Cheap flights from Turku to Krakow

December is the cheapest month on this route, and the fares listed here run from September through April, so the useful window is autumn, winter and early spring. Late autumn and January are quiet at both ends, which usually means more choice of connections and easier seat availability. If you want to travel over Christmas or the New Year, book well ahead — those dates fill up whatever the season. Midweek departures from Turku are calmer than Friday and Sunday, when weekend traffic builds. Watch the price calendar for a few weeks before you commit; the gap between one week and the next is wider than most people expect.

Nobody flies Turku to Krakow nonstop, so every option is a connecting itinerary, and the airline you choose decides where you change and how long the trip takes. Wizz Air is the low-cost name on the list: a cabin bag comes with the fare, while checked luggage and seat selection are add-ons. Finnair, Scandinavian Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Air Baltic, Cityjet, Braathens Regional Aviation and Nordic Regional Airlines are full-service carriers, so a checked bag and refreshments are more often part of the ticket. On a connection, buy both legs on one booking if you can — then the airline looks after you when the first flight runs late.

Krakow's airport is Balice, and it sits a short ride from the city rather than far out in the countryside, so the transfer is quick. Buses and a rail link run from the terminal to the centre through the day, and taxis and ride-hailing apps are easy to find at the arrivals exit. If you are connecting, your bags are normally checked through to Balice, so you only have to move yourself between gates. Check the last transfer time into the centre before you book an evening arrival, and have a card ready for the ride in.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Turku has one airport, so your departure point is fixed — check the connection airport instead, since that is where a cheap itinerary usually goes wrong.
• On a low-cost fare, add a checked bag and seat selection before you compare it with a full-service ticket.
• If the legs are sold on separate tickets, you carry the risk of a missed connection and may have to re-check your bags.
• Check that your passport or ID is valid for Poland and for the country you transit through.
• December is the cheapest month here, so price it against the spring months if your dates are flexible.
• Leave a comfortable gap between flights — tight connections are the usual reason a cheap trip falls apart.
