Cheap flights to Copenhagen

Cheap flights to Copenhagen start with knowing when the city is quiet and which airlines fly the route. Denmark's capital draws visitors for its harbour, its cycling culture and its food scene, and it fills up fastest in summer, when the days run long and the whole city seems to be outdoors. Ryanair, Norwegian International and Scandinavian Airlines are among the carriers serving Kastrup, alongside Air Baltic and EasyJet Europe.

Airports — Copenhagen

Copenhagen Airport at Kastrup is the city's only airport, and it sits close enough to town that the transfer is short. The Metro runs from the terminal straight into the centre, and the regional trains cover much the same ground with a few more stops along the way. Taxis and buses wait outside arrivals, and the route from the gate to the Metro is signposted the whole way.

When to go

Late spring and early autumn are the calmest stretches for airfare, with mild weather and thinner crowds. Summer brings the long Nordic days and the heaviest demand, especially around the school holidays, while winter turns cold and dark and fills flights again in December, when visitors arrive for the Christmas markets and New Year. If your dates are flexible, aim for the shoulder months.
