Long-haul seats come in on Air China, Hainan Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Norse Atlantic Airways and Oman Air, while Air Arabia, Etihad Airways and AirAsia X feed in through their hubs. Leave room for traffic if you land in the evening.
When to go
The dry, cooler stretch from November to February is the most comfortable time to visit, and it is also the busiest, so fares and rooms climb around the holidays and again at Songkran in April, when the city fills for the water festival. March to May turns hot and humid, and the southwest monsoon brings heavy afternoon downpours from around June to October. The rain rarely lasts all day, and the greener months keep flights and hotels quieter.
