Cheap flights Tenerife – Krakow

The cheapest month on this route is November, when the summer crowds have gone from Tenerife and the Polish winter has not fully set in. Fares also ease in the quieter weeks of January and February, while July and August are the busiest and priciest. Midweek departures usually cost less than weekend ones, and seats go fastest around Christmas, New Year and the school holidays. If your dates are flexible, compare a few weeks either side of your plan before you commit.

Ten carriers are listed on this route, and the mix tells you a lot about what you will pay. Easyjet, Vueling Airlines, Transavia Airlines, Jet2, Ryanair, Wizz Air and Norwegian International work on the low-cost model, where the fare covers the seat and extras are charged separately. Air France, Scandinavian Airlines and Air Serbia are full-service names, and their itineraries are more likely to involve a connection than a straight run into Balice. Direct flights do exist here, so filter for them if time matters more than the ticket price, and read what each fare actually includes before you compare.

Krakow is served by Balice, and it sits close to the centre by the standards of most European airports, so you are looking at a short ride rather than a long transfer. The usual ways in are the train, a bus or a taxi, and the choice mostly comes down to how much luggage you have and what time you land. Late arrivals need a bit of planning: check the last train and bus times before you book an evening flight, and keep a taxi number or a ride-hailing app as a fallback. If you are heading for the old town or the station area the trip is quick; if your hotel sits on the far side of the city, allow more time.

• Decide between Tenerife Norte and Tenerife Sur before you search, because they serve different sides of the island.
• Check what the fare includes, since low-cost tickets price a checked bag separately from the seat.
• If your trip is stitched together from separate tickets, leave a generous gap in case the first leg runs late.
• Make sure your passport or ID card meets the entry rules for Poland before you fly.
• Book early for the Christmas and New Year window, when seats on this route fill up.
• Compare November fares with the summer months if your dates are still open.
