Cheap flights from Shanghai to Almaty

Start with the expensive stretches: the year-end holidays and school breaks can lift fares, and summer travel can do the same, so work back from those peaks before settling on a date. November is the cheapest month shown for this route, and the months on either side are worth checking if your dates can move. Midweek departures may help when your schedule allows, though availability varies by airline and fare.

The named carriers include AirAsiaX Sdn Bhd, China Southern Airlines, VietJet Air, Air China, SCAT JSC Aircompany, China Eastern Airlines, Spring Airlines, Yangtze River Express, Juneyao Airlines and Sichuan Airlines. The mix spans low-cost and full-service airlines, but what is included changes by carrier and fare class, so confirm checked baggage, meals, seat selection and changes before you pay. Direct flights operate on this route, yet not every listed airline necessarily flies nonstop every day, so verify the routing shown for your chosen fare.

Arriving late in the day at Almaty Intl Airport can change your onward options, so decide on transport before you land, whether that means an airport taxi, a ride-hailing car or public transport if it is still running. The airport is Almaty's main air gateway, and as with any city arrival, allow extra time for passport control and baggage, especially on busy evenings. Check the terminal information on your booking and follow official ground-transport signs rather than accepting unsolicited offers.
