Cheap flights from Salvador to Zurich

The pricey part of the calendar is the familiar one: Christmas, New Year and school holidays, when seats tighten and fares have less room to move. Prices are listed from October to June, and December is the cheapest month among them, so if your dates are flexible, look first at December days away from the holiday peaks. Midweek and weekend patterns are worth comparing too, because the same connection can price differently by departure day. Book early once you find a fare that includes the baggage and connection time you actually need.

Most of the ten carriers on this route are full-service airlines; Azul and GOL Linhas Aereas S.A. are the low-cost options, while TAP Portugal, Air Europa, Latam Airlines Brasil, Air France, British Airways, Turkish Airlines, LATAM Airlines, and Swiss sell network itineraries. None is nonstop, so every fare connects, and the main differences are connection city, connection length, and what each fare brand includes. Check baggage, seat selection, and ticket change rules before you assume two similar prices are equal.

Zurich Airport is a single major airport with several concourses, so allow time for walks and border control before you head into town. Rail links connect it to the city centre, with tram and road options as backups, and the journey is short. Watch for which concourse you arrive at, how late public transport runs, and whether a separate-ticket connection forces immigration and baggage re-check.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Check what your fare includes before you pay: with low-cost carriers, baggage, seats and changes often cost extra.
• Confirm which airports your itinerary uses, because Salvador has one main airport, D.L.E. Magalhaes, and Zurich has one, but the connection can be anywhere.
• Compare dates across the week and around Christmas and school holidays, since December is the cheapest month in the listed fares.
• Make sure your passport, visa and name details match Switzerland's entry rules for your nationality.
• If you book separate tickets, allow enough connection time and expect to re-check bags.
