Cheap flights from Rovaniemi to Prague

Demand on this route follows Finnish school holidays and Prague's summer season, with peaks as winter travellers leave the north and again when the city fills in summer. May is the cheapest month in the calendar here, while November through June carries published fares, so shoulder-season weeks are kinder to the budget. Midweek departures and avoiding the school-break windows usually soften prices; book earlier if your dates sit inside them.

What sets these options apart is what the fare already pays for, not the routing, because none of them is non-stop. Easyjet, Norwegian International and Eurowings behave like low-cost brands: fares look lean and cabin bags, checked bags and seat choice are often extras bought later. Finnair, Lufthansa, Austrian, LOT Polish Airlines, Edelweiss Air, Lufthansa City Airlines and Nordic Regional Airlines sit on the full-service side, where a ticket more often bundles a checked bag, a meal and rebooking options. The real difference a traveller feels is therefore not the flight time but what is already paid for and how easily a missed connection is fixed.

Arriving late in the day changes the calculation, because Ruzyne airport sits well outside Prague's centre and the last easy public-transport link can be the deciding factor. By day, buses and the metro connection get you downtown without fuss; late at night you are more likely to weigh a taxi or a pre-booked transfer against a longer wait. Check whether your arrival time leaves room for that last link, since a missed one means an unplanned night transfer rather than a simple ride.

• Confirm whether your connection is sold as one ticket or two separate ones, because a missed link on separate tickets is yours to fix.
• Check that the connecting airport and times leave a realistic buffer, especially on the return.
• Read the baggage rules for the low-cost legs, since cabin size and checked bags are often extra.
• Confirm entry and passport rules for the Czech Republic for your nationality before booking.
• Compare May shoulder-season weeks against peak holiday dates when prices climb.
