Cheap flights from Rotterdam to Antalya

The dearest stretch of the year is the summer holiday period and the end-of-year break, when prices rise and availability tightens. Working back from there, spring and late winter are usually calmer, and February is the cheapest month in the calendar shown for this route. Weekday departures can help, and booking earlier matters most when school holidays are in play; November through September are the months with fares listed. If your dates are flexible, compare a week either side of your first choice before you commit.

Turkish Airlines heads the list of carriers on this route, followed by Pegasus, Transavia Airlines, Ajet, Sun Express, BA CityFlyer and Air Algerie. None of them fly nonstop, so every journey involves a connection and the quality of that transfer matters as much as the fare. Fare inclusions vary widely: some tickets include checked baggage, meals or changes, while others are stripped back, so read the rules before you buy on price alone. On a connecting itinerary, the safest option is usually one ticket with a protected connection, even if a separate-ticket combination looks cheaper at first.

Antalya Airport is a large gateway that handles heavy seasonal traffic, so allow time for border formalities, baggage reclaim and the walk to your transfer. It lies outside the city, and the usual ways into town are buses, taxis, hotel shuttles and pre-booked transfers, with public transport busier at peak times. Watch for terminal changes, late-night arrivals and queues for onward transport, especially if your connection or transfer is time-sensitive. If you are landing after dark, arrange the first leg of your journey in advance and confirm which terminal your flight uses.

• Check whether the flights are on one ticket or separate tickets, because a missed connection on separate bookings is your own problem.
• Confirm that Rotterdam and Antalya are the airports named on the ticket before you pay.
• Read the baggage, seat and change rules, since the cheapest fare can be the least flexible.
• Check passport validity and Turkey entry requirements well before departure, not at the airport.
• Compare the connection times offered, including overnight or very early changes, and allow a margin for delays.
• Look at how your dates sit against school holidays and the summer season, because February is cheaper in the calendar shown.
