Cheap flights from Poznan to Astana

January is the cheapest month to fly this route, and the quieter weeks after the New Year holidays tend to hold those fares. Autumn and early winter also price reasonably, while late spring and summer travel costs more. Midweek departures are usually gentler on the wallet than Friday or Sunday flights, when business travellers fill the cabins. Book a few weeks ahead for a wider choice of connections, and expect higher demand around Christmas, New Year and Nauryz in Kazakhstan, when families travel home.

Most carriers on this route are full-service network airlines — LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Dolomiti, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Swiss and Braathens Regional Aviation — and they bring you to Astana through their home hubs, so you change planes once, sometimes twice. Fly Dubai is the low-cost option here, usually routing through the Gulf. What separates them is less the seat than the fare: baggage allowances, seat selection and change rules differ, so read the fare conditions before you choose.

Astana is served by Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, which sits outside the city, so plan on a road transfer rather than a walk into town. Taxis and ride-hailing are the usual choice, and buses also connect the airport with the centre. Allow extra time in winter, when snow and ice can slow traffic and delay departures. Keep some local currency handy for the ride, and confirm your return pickup the day before you fly.
