Cheap flights from Nice to Berlin

Summer weekends and the Christmas and New Year period are usually the expensive stretches; fares often ease through autumn, and December is the lowest-priced month shown for this route. Midweek departures can be cheaper than weekend ones, and school holidays can make the lower fares disappear faster, so compare dates around them.

Base fares on the low-cost brands usually include a small cabin bag, with checked baggage, seat selection and priority boarding priced as extras; Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, TAP Portugal and Swiss bundle more into the fare, but the allowance still varies by ticket type. The route is served by Easyjet, EasyJet Europe, Wizz Air, Wizz Air Malta, Transavia France, Eurowings, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, TAP Portugal and Swiss, with direct flights available and some itineraries connecting. Compare the fare rules, not just the headline price, because a connection can add time and a low-cost extra can erase the saving.

Arrange your onward transport before you land, since BrBrandenburg is outside central Berlin and the train, bus or taxi you choose sets how long the last leg takes. The airport has rail and road links into the city, and the journey is usually straightforward, but late arrivals can mean fewer services. Check which terminal your flight uses and allow time for the transfer, especially if you have checked baggage or a connection to another flight.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Check passport validity and entry rules for Germany before you book, since your nationality may require specific documents even for a short stay.
• Check the airport names on your ticket, because Nice uses Cote D'Azur and Berlin uses BrBrandenburg.
• Compare baggage allowances on low-cost and full-service fares, because a cheap base fare can grow once bags and seats are added.
• Check whether your itinerary is direct or connecting, and allow enough time if you change planes on separate tickets.
• Look at December and nearby months in the price calendar, but check school holidays and Christmas dates before assuming the lowest fare.
