Cheap flights from Mykonos to Madrid

Start with the shoulder weeks around April, then April itself, the cheapest month named for this route. Summer fares often rise when school holidays and city breaks peak, and December dates can climb around Christmas. Weekday departures are often cheaper than weekend ones, though that varies by airline. If you can move by a few days either side of your preferred date, the price calendar will show where the dips are.

Direct availability matters most on this island-to-mainland route, and the listed carriers include Transavia France, Vueling Airlines, Sky Express, Air Serbia, Volotea, Olympic Air, Iberia, Transavia Airlines, Eurowings Discover and Easyjet. Some itineraries are nonstop and others connect, so read the flight details before comparing prices. Fare rules differ sharply: one ticket may include a cabin bag and seat, while another charges for both and for airport check-in. If you connect on separate tickets, the second airline does not have to help you if the first flight is late.

Before you land, decide which Barajas terminal your flight uses and how you will reach central Madrid, because the airport sits outside the city. Barajas is Madrid's main airport and has several terminals, so allow time if you need to move between them. Metro, suburban trains, buses and taxis link the airport with the centre; choose by luggage, time of day and where your hotel is. If you land late, check that your chosen transfer still runs and that your accommodation can receive you. Keep your passport and any documents handy for arrival formalities.
