Cheap flights Manila to Wroclaw

October is the cheapest month on this route, and fares stay reasonable from September through November, before the Christmas rush pushes them up in December. January and February are quiet again, while June and July bring the summer peak and the highest demand. Flying out on a Tuesday or Wednesday and coming back midweek usually costs less than a weekend departure. Avoid the days around Christmas, New Year and the Polish holiday weeks in spring, and book a few months ahead if you travel in summer.

Every airline on this route sells a connecting ticket. Qatar Airways, Oman Air, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways Intl are full-service carriers, with meals and checked baggage in the fare. Philippine Airlines is the home carrier out of Manila and often the easiest connection through East Asia. Scoot is the low-cost option, and Juneyao Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and Air China keep fares down on the Chinese and Southeast Asian routings. Check what the fare includes before you pick.

Strachowice is the airport for Wroclaw, and it sits a short ride from the city centre. Buses and taxis are the usual ways in, and both are easy to find once you clear arrivals. If you land late, arrange your transfer before you fly, because the evening buses thin out. Keep your onward plans flexible: a long connection in the Gulf or in East Asia can push your arrival into the small hours, and passport control at Strachowice is quick but depends on how many flights land at once.

• Check your departure terminal at Ninoy Aquino Intl before you set off, and leave room for Manila traffic.
• Confirm whether checked baggage is in the fare, because Scoot and the other low-cost legs often sell it separately.
• Look at the whole journey, not just the first leg, since every option here is a connection and a short stop can mean a rushed change of plane.
• Make sure both legs sit on one ticket, or you carry the risk if the first flight runs late.
• Check your passport and the entry rules for Poland well before departure.
• Book early for June and July, and aim at October if you want the lowest fare.
