Cheap flights from Madrid to Baku

The summer months and holiday periods are usually the pricier stretch of the year; the shoulder months ease back, and December is the cheapest month shown for this route. Midweek departures often beat weekend ones, and booking several weeks ahead is sensible for December, longer still for peak holiday dates. Check the price calendar before you settle on dates, because the cheapest week can move.

On these fares the base price usually covers the seat and a small cabin bag, while checked luggage, seat choice and meals often cost extra; the gap is widest on the low-cost carriers among the operators. Every itinerary connects, since there are no nonstop flights, and the airlines serving Madrid to Baku are Wizz Air Malta, Ajet, Wizz Air, Pegasus, Israir, LOT Polish Airlines, Air Serbia, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and Air Europa. Compare what each fare includes, the connection time and whether the whole trip is on one ticket before you pay.

Heydar Aliyev International is Baku's main gateway, so arrivals, passport control and baggage can take time at busy periods; build in a buffer before any onward plan. Taxis, ride-hailing and airport buses are the usual ways into the centre, and it is worth confirming the transfer and keeping your hotel address to hand. Watch for unofficial taxi offers and agree the fare or meter before you ride.
