Cheap flights from Lyon to Madrid

Booking several weeks ahead typically yields better fares on this route. March tends to be quieter and less expensive than the peak summer period when demand rises. School holidays in Europe and around Christmas often see higher prices across all airlines operating this connection.

Iberia and its subsidiary Air Nostrum provide full-service connections with baggage included in most tickets. Low-cost carriers such as Volotea, EasyJet Europe, Wizz Air UK, and Vueling Airlines offer cheaper base fares but charge extra for checked luggage. Portuguese operator Portug and Malta Airlines also serve this route alongside Air Algerie.

Arriving late at Barajas airport means public transport options become limited after midnight. The terminal sits approximately thirty kilometres from Madrid's centre with regular bus services running throughout the day. Taxis and ride-sharing apps remain available around the clock for evening arrivals.
