Cheap flights London to Praia

The weeks either side of December — late November into early January — carry the lowest fares of the year, and December itself prices lowest of all. That is also Cape Verde's dry season, so the cheap window overlaps with the best weather. Midweek departures tend to price below weekend ones, and booking a month or two ahead helps most on the low-cost carriers.

Most of the route is full-service: Royal Air Maroc, TAP Portugal, Turkish Airlines, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa City Airlines and Air Dolomiti all fly it with a connection, and their fares usually include a checked bag. You land at Francisco Mendes, the airport on the edge of Praia, a short drive from the centre. Taxis are the usual way into town; there is no rail link. The airport is small, so arrivals are quick, but the connection into Praia can be tight if your inbound flight runs late — check the layover before you commit.
