Cheap flights from Kunming to Madrid

November is the cheapest month in the fare data for this route, while published fares also cover October through April and June through September. Demand is shaped by Christmas, school holidays and Madrid's summer, so book earlier for those periods and consider midweek departures when your dates are flexible. If you can travel in November, you may find more room to compare connections, but always check the price calendar for your exact dates.

The difference you feel is mainly connection time, baggage rules and what the fare includes, because no airline flies this route non-stop. The carriers in the facts are Shanghai Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Thai Airways Intl, China United Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines, Kunming Airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Tianjin Airlines. Check whether your fare includes checked baggage, meals and changes, and whether the connection is protected on one ticket.

You land at Barajas, Madrid's main airport, which sits to the north-east of the city centre. From there, the usual options into town are metro, suburban rail, bus, taxi or ride-hailing, depending on terminal and time of day. Check which terminal your flight uses, how long the transfer will take at that hour, and whether you need to change lines or terminals before you reach your hotel.
