Cheap flights from Krakow to Varna

March is the cheapest month on this route, and it falls well outside the Black Sea season, so you trade warm water for the lowest fares. From late spring onward prices climb and stay high through high summer, when the coast fills up; the shoulder weeks on either side are the compromise if you want to swim. Midweek departures usually cost less than weekend ones, and school holidays, Christmas and New Year push fares up at both ends. For summer travel, book several weeks ahead; for spring and autumn you can often leave it later.

Wizz Air and Ryanair are the low-cost names here, and since the route has direct service, they are the first place to look for a nonstop ticket. Air Serbia, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cityline, Air Dolomiti, Austrian, Turkish Airlines and El Al Israel Airlines sell connecting itineraries instead, usually with one change and a longer total journey. Braathens Regional Aviation also appears in results. The real difference is what is bundled: low-cost fares usually cover a small personal item, with bags and seats priced separately, while full-service tickets more often include a cabin bag and sometimes checked luggage. Check the fare rules before comparing totals.

Varna airport is the only arrival point for this route, and it sits a short drive from the city centre, close enough that a taxi or the local bus into town takes only a little while. Buses run between the terminal and the centre through the day, taxis wait outside arrivals, and ride-hailing apps work in the city. The airport also serves the coastal resorts, so in summer the roads north and south of Varna get busy on changeover days. Check your transfer options before a late arrival, since services thin out after the last evening flights, and confirm whether your accommodation is in Varna itself or further along the coast.

• Krakow flights leave from Balice, so there is no second airport to pick between — just allow time for the drive out.
• On Wizz Air and Ryanair fares, confirm what is included and add bags or seat choice to the total before deciding.
• If you book a connecting itinerary, keep both legs on one ticket or leave a generous gap between separate bookings.
• Check the entry rules for Bulgaria and that your passport or ID stays valid for the whole trip.
• March is the cheapest month on this route, so if your dates are flexible, compare it with high summer before booking.
• Varna airport sits a short ride from the centre but serves the whole coast, so sort your transfer before you land.
