Cheap flights from Krakow to Tunis

November comes out as the cheapest month on this route, with the weeks either side of it usually calmer than the summer rush. Fares tend to climb for school breaks and the end-of-year holidays, so if your dates are fixed around those, book early rather than late. Midweek departures are generally quieter than Friday and Sunday flights, and a Tuesday or Wednesday connection often costs less than a weekend one. If your plans are flexible, let the price calendar choose the week for you.

There are no direct flights between Krakow and Tunis, so every option here involves a connection. Wizz Air and Easyjet are the low-cost names on the route, and their fares cover a seat and a small cabin bag while checked luggage and seat choice cost extra. LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, KLM Cityhopper and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Air France, Eurowings, Luxair and Air Dolomiti are full-service, so a checked bag is usually part of the ticket and a missed connection becomes their problem to solve rather than yours. Compare the total, not the headline fare.

You land at Carthage, the airport serving Tunis and the main international gateway into Tunisia. It sits close to the city rather than far out, so the transfer to the centre is short. A taxi or a pre-arranged transfer is the usual way in, and it helps to agree the ride before you get in the car and to have your accommodation address written down. If you arrive late at night, sort the transfer in advance instead of negotiating at the kerb. Allow time on the way back too, since the airport gets busy in the early morning.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Check which airport you leave from — in Krakow that is Balice, so there is no second airport to mix up.
• On a low-cost ticket with Wizz Air or Easyjet, add a checked bag before you compare the price with a full-service fare.
• If your trip is split across two separate tickets, leave a generous gap between flights, because a missed connection is yours to fix.
• Confirm your passport and any entry requirements for Tunisia well before departure.
• Look at the price calendar before you fix dates: November is the cheapest month and the weeks around it move a lot.
• Decide whether a longer layover in a European hub is worth the lower fare.
