Cheap flights from Krakow to Cebu

Fares on this route are listed for September through April, and March comes out cheapest, a quiet month on both ends of the trip before the summer rush. Late autumn and the weeks after the New Year tend to sit in the middle. Fly midweek rather than at the weekend if your dates are flexible, and steer clear of the days around major holidays in both countries, when seats go fast. Book a connecting itinerary like this several months ahead: the long-haul legs sell out before the short ones.

No carrier flies Krakow to Cebu non-stop, so your ticket will combine at least two airlines. Expect a European name on the first leg out of Balice, such as Lufthansa, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Finnair, Scandinavian Airlines, Helvetic Airways, Braathens Regional Aviation or Cityjet, and carriers like Turkish Airlines, Fly Dubai or Pegasus on the long haul toward Asia. Low-cost seats, Pegasus among them, usually cover the seat only, with bags and meals charged on top, while full-service fares tend to include a checked bag and food. Compare the total, not the headline fare, and check whether both legs sit on one ticket.

Mactan International is the airport for Cebu, and it sits on Mactan Island rather than in the city itself, so you still have a transfer after you land. Taxis, ride-hailing apps and hotel shuttles all make the run across the channel into Cebu City, and the trip can take a while when traffic builds up. If your itinerary ends with a domestic hop to another island, check whether that flight leaves from the same terminal you arrive at. Sort your transfer before you land, and confirm your onward plans before you clear arrivals.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Krakow flies from Balice only, so check the airport on your booking matches before you pay.
• Confirm whether both legs sit on one ticket, because a missed connection on separate bookings is yours to fix, not the airline's.
• Read the baggage rules on your low-cost leg, since a cheap seat often means paying for every checked bag.
• Check entry rules for the Philippines early, and make sure your passport has enough validity left for the trip.
• Book well ahead if you plan to travel around Christmas or Easter, when seats on connecting routes go first.
• Compare March fares with your own dates, because the cheapest month is not always the cheapest week.
