Cheap flights from Krakow to Ahmedabad

October is the cheapest month on this route, and fares stay visible on the calendar from September through February, so you can weigh a winter trip against an autumn one. Midweek departures tend to cost less than weekend ones, and early-morning connections out of Balice often price better than afternoon departures. Book a few months ahead for the Indian festival season and the Christmas and New Year window, when seats to Ahmedabad fill quickly. Late spring and summer travel is possible too, but the calendar shows fewer dated fares then.

Nobody flies Krakow to Ahmedabad non-stop, so every ticket here is a connecting itinerary. Air Arabia, Air Baltic, Cityjet, HOP! and Helvetic Airways sit at the low-cost or hybrid end, where a checked bag and seat selection usually cost extra. Scandinavian Airlines, Finnair, Nordic Regional Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and Lufthansa are full-service, with luggage and meals typically included in the fare. Which airline you pick decides where you change planes — a Gulf hub, the Nordics or a big German airport — and how long the whole trip takes.

You land at S.VallabhBhai Patel airport, Ahmedabad's international gateway, on the eastern side of the city. It sits a short drive from the centre, though traffic matters more than distance and the run takes far longer at rush hour. Prepaid taxi counters in arrivals, ride-hailing apps and auto-rickshaws are the usual ways into town, and airport buses cover the route more slowly. Have your hotel address written down, and agree the fare or check the meter before you set off.

• Check whether your connection is on one ticket or two, because separate bookings mean you carry your bags and risk a missed leg.
• Confirm what the low-cost carriers include, since a checked bag and a seat choice often cost extra on Air Arabia, Air Baltic or HOP!.
• Look at the whole journey time, not just the first departure, as a long layover in a Gulf or Nordic hub can stretch the trip.
• Make sure your passport and Indian visa are valid well beyond your travel dates before you pay.
• Fly in October if you can be flexible, and compare the same route in September, November and December on the calendar.
• Leave extra time at Balice in winter, when fog and snow can slow departures.
