Cheap flights from Kozhikode to Krakow

October is the cheapest month for this route in the fare data, and prices also appear for September, November, December, January and March. Outside that window the route goes quiet, so if your dates can move, build your trip around the autumn months. Weekday departures from Kozhikode Intl. are usually calmer at check-in than weekend ones, and the winter holiday season in Poland is the busiest stretch on the Krakow side. Book a few weeks ahead rather than at the last minute, and remember that a connecting itinerary is priced as two flights, so shifting one leg can change the whole total.

Every airline on this route flies connecting itineraries, so you will change planes at least once between Kozhikode Intl. and Balice. The low-cost names, Indigo, Spicejet Ltd., Fly Dubai, Air Arabia and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, sell a seat and charge for extras, so add a bag and a meal to the fare before you compare. Oman Air, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways are the full-service carriers, and their tickets usually include more, which can make them closer in total than the headline price suggests. Check the layover length and whether both legs sit on one ticket, because a self-transfer puts the risk on you.

Krakow's airport is Balice, and it sits outside the city rather than in it, so plan a transfer rather than a walk. A train and a bus both connect the terminal with the centre, and taxis and ride-hailing apps wait at the arrivals exit. If you land late, check the last train and bus times before you fly, because the airport side of Krakow goes quiet overnight. Know which stop you need in the centre, and keep your onward address handy for the driver.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Kozhikode has a single main airport, Kozhikode Intl., so check that your ticket starts there.
• Low-cost carriers such as Indigo, Spicejet Ltd., Fly Dubai and Air Arabia charge separately for a checked bag, so price that in before you book.
• Make sure both legs of the connection are on one ticket, or you carry the risk if the first flight runs late.
• Check Poland's entry rules and your passport validity well before departure, since you arrive from outside the Schengen area.
• Use the price calendar for September through March and treat October as the cheapest month to aim for.
• Leave room at Balice for passport control, because the queue after a long connection can be slow.
