Cheap flights Katowice – Phuket

December is the cheapest month on this route, and it also falls in Phuket's dry season, so it pays to book well ahead if you want that window. The price calendar covers September through June, which means the European autumn and the Thai high season are both on it. Weekday departures from Pyrzowice tend to be quieter than weekend ones, and Polish school holidays push fares up on outbound legs. If your dates are flexible, look at late autumn and the spring months, and remember that Thai New Year in April fills the island fast.

The airline list mixes low-cost and full-service names. Air Arabia is the low-cost carrier here, and Air Baltic is a smaller regional name; on both, treat the fare as a starting point and check what it covers. Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines, Air Dolomiti, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways are the full-service names, and their tickets typically involve a connection rather than a straight run to Phuket. American Airlines and Delta Air Lines appear on some long itineraries too. What is included depends on the fare type rather than the airline name, so read the baggage and change rules before you commit.

Phuket International Airport sits at the north-west corner of the island, so it is a drive rather than a walk from the main beach strips in the south. Metered taxis, ride-hailing apps, shared minibuses and hotel transfers all run from the terminal, and the journey time depends on traffic and on which beach you are heading to. If you land late, arrange the transfer before you fly rather than negotiating at the kerb. Phuket International is the airport you land at on this route, so there is no terminal choice to make.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Katowice departures leave from Pyrzowice, so check the transfer time into the airport before you pick a departure slot.
• Look at what the fare includes for baggage, seat selection and meals, since the low-cost names charge separately.
• If your itinerary is built from separate tickets, leave a generous gap in case the first leg runs late.
• Check your passport validity and the current entry rules for Thailand before you pay.
• Compare December against the shoulder months on the calendar, because the cheapest month is also the busiest.
• On connecting itineraries, look at total journey time and the length of the layover, not just the headline fare.
