Cheap flights from Edinburgh to Sørvágur

Travel demand peaks around school holidays and during the Faroe Islands summer season when daylight hours stretch late into evening. Visitors usually plan trips between October and August to align with ferry schedules and stable weather patterns, though May typically offers the lowest airfares. Securing your reservation several weeks in advance generally guarantees better seats on direct departures.

Fares on this route vary depending on whether your ticket bundles checked luggage and meals or charges separately for seat selection and priority boarding. Atlantic Airways, KLM Cityhopper, Cityjet, BA CityFlyer, Aer Lingus, Icelandair, Emerald Airlines, Norwegian, Scandinavian Airlines, and Luxair operate along this corridor. Some carriers include these amenities within the base price, while others keep initial costs lower but add fees for cabin upgrades. Connecting itineraries often split across different networks, so verify baggage allowances on every segment before confirming your booking.

Getting into town from Vagar airport begins with a road transfer that follows winding coastal routes through rugged terrain. Local buses depart regularly and drop passengers near the village center, while taxis provide direct service to your accommodation. The journey moves steadily along familiar roads and gives you time to adjust to island travel before exploring nearby trails.
