Cheap flights from Chisinau to Krakow

November is the cheapest month on this route, and fares stay reasonable through the quieter weeks of late autumn and early spring. Summer and the run-up to Christmas are the busy stretches, when seats fill with holiday traffic between Moldova and Poland. If your dates are flexible, look at midweek departures rather than Friday or Sunday, and book a few weeks ahead once you see a fare you like. The price calendar shows what each month is doing before you commit.

No airline flies Chisinau to Krakow nonstop, so every option here is a connection. Wizz Air Malta, Pegasus, Sun Express and Eurowings keep the fare low and charge for extras, while LOT Polish Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian, Aegean Airlines and Tarom sell fuller fares with more included. What you get for the money differs a lot between those two groups, so read the fare rules before you compare totals. The airline you choose also decides where you change planes and how long the whole trip takes.

Flights land at Balice, the airport that serves Krakow, which sits outside the city and is linked to the centre by train, bus and taxi. The train is the quickest way in for most people, while buses take longer and stop more often. Taxis and ride-hailing apps wait outside arrivals. Give yourself time on the way back: the airport is a real transfer from the old town, and security queues build up in summer and around the holidays. If your onward connection leaves early, a night near the airport saves a stressful morning.

• Check what your low-cost fare includes, because cabin bag size, checked luggage and seat choice are often paid extras.
• Every flight on this route connects, so confirm both legs sit on one ticket before you pay.
• If you book separate tickets, leave a long gap between flights and plan to collect and re-check your bags.
• Make sure your passport or ID is valid for entry to Poland and that you carry the right documents for the Schengen area.
• Compare November fares with the months on either side, since that is where the savings usually sit.
• Allow extra time at Chisinau airport for check-in and border control, and again at your connecting airport.
