Cheap flights from Cagliari to Madrid

The weeks either side of May often sit between the winter and summer peaks, so compare them before you fix dates; May is the cheapest month shown for this route. Summer holidays, Christmas and Easter can push fares up at both ends of the trip, while midweek departures are often priced lower than weekend ones. Fares are listed for every month from October to September, so you can check the whole year.

The route is split between low-cost and full-service carriers, so the base fare may or may not include bags, seats and changes. Listed airlines are Wizz Air Malta, Ryanair, Easyjet, Transavia France, Lufthansa, Volotea, HOP!, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Smart Wings and Edelweiss Air.

Direct flights are available, but some itineraries connect, and a connection can be on one ticket or separate tickets with different baggage rules. Compare the fare brand, not just the headline price, because low-cost extras can exceed a full-service fare once luggage is added.

Arrange your onward transport and terminal plan before you land, because Barajas has more than one terminal and transfer times vary. Barajas is Madrid's main airport and lies outside the city centre; metro, suburban rail and airport buses are the usual ways into town, and taxis are available too. Check which terminal your flight uses, allow time for terminal transfers, and keep your arrival documents handy for passport control.
