Cheap flights from Cagliari to Krakow

February is the cheapest month to fly this route, and the price calendar covers September through June, so you can see how each month compares before you fix your dates. Winter is quiet at both ends, which is why fares drop. Spring and early summer fill up as the weather improves in Cagliari and in Krakow. Midweek departures generally price lower than weekend ones on routes like this, and the Christmas and New Year weeks are the ones to book early if you have no flexibility. If your dates are open, start with February and work outwards from there.

Several carriers fly between Cagliari Elmas and Krakow Balice, and the mix leans low-cost: easyJet and EasyJet Europe, Ryanair, Vueling Airlines, Wizz Air Malta and Transavia France. Aeroitalia, Neos Air, El Al Israel Airlines and Mokulele Flight Service also appear, so results show both budget and full-service names. What separates them is not only the fare. Low-cost tickets tend to cover a seat and a small cabin bag, with checked bags added later, while full-service fares usually include more. Read what each fare covers before comparing totals, and check that the flight you pick is nonstop.

Krakow's airport is Balice, which sits outside the city rather than in it, so think about the last leg before you land. Buses and a rail link connect the terminal with the centre, taxis and ride-hailing are faster and cost more, and the transfer is short enough that you do not lose a day to it. Watch your arrival time: a late landing leaves fewer buses and makes a taxi the realistic choice. If you want a rental car, collect it at the terminal rather than in town. On the Cagliari side, Elmas is the city's only airport, so there is no second departure point to check.

Country facts: Wikidata

• Cagliari Elmas is the only airport serving the city, so there is no second departure point to compare.
• Check what your low-cost fare includes, especially cabin bag size and whether a checked bag is worth adding.
• If you are booking legs on separate tickets, leave generous time between them, because a missed connection is yours to fix.
• Carry a valid passport or identity card for Poland and check the entry rules for your nationality before you pay.
• February is the cheapest month here, but the price calendar runs from September to June, so look at it before fixing dates.
• Confirm that the flight you choose is nonstop, since not every departure on this route is.
