Cheap Flights from Birmingham to Nuremberg

Demand follows the calendar more than the destination: German school holidays and the run-up to Christmas push fares up on both ends, while the city itself draws visitors year-round with its Christmas market season. November is the cheapest month on this route, and the price calendar covers October through February, then May and June. Booking a few weeks ahead and staying flexible on weekdays usually beats last-minute picks.

Every itinerary connects, so the real choice is where you change planes. Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Lufthansa City Airlines, HOP!, Air Dolomiti and Air France tie into their hubs, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines routes through Schiphol, and Turkish Airlines and Pegasus take you south before swinging back to Nuremberg. Jet2 and Easyjet sit at the low-cost end, where baggage and seat choice cost extra, while the full-service carriers generally include a checked bag. A longer connection can be worth it if the fare drops enough.

Before you land, sort out how you will reach the centre, because Nuremberg Airport sits close to the city and the U-Bahn runs straight from the terminal into town in a short ride. Taxis and rideshares wait outside arrivals if you have luggage to spare. Check your terminal and gate on the connection board when you change planes, since a missed link on a separate ticket means buying a new seat.

• Remember Birmingham is your only departure airport here, so check its departure times and terminals when comparing options.
• Weigh baggage allowances carefully on Jet2 and Easyjet, where a checked bag may not be included in the base fare.
• Check whether your connection is on a single ticket or separate ones, and how much time you have between flights.
• Scan the price calendar across October to June, since fares move noticeably between months on this route.
