Cheap flights from Birmingham to Gothenburg

April tends to have the lowest fares for this route according to the price calendar shown here. Demand rises during European school holidays and around Christmas when people visit family in Sweden. You might also consider May or June if you prefer warmer weather, though prices move up then as well. Midweek departures generally cost less than weekend flights regardless of season.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines operates through Amsterdam with full-service fares that include checked baggage and meal service on most tickets. Air France connects via Paris similarly, while Lufthansa and its subsidiary Lufthansa City Airlines route passengers through Frankfurt or Munich. Eurowings offers more budget-oriented options from the German network, sometimes combining with partners for longer journeys. Turkish Airlines provides connections through Istanbul reaching further east before turning north toward Scandinavia. Cityjet, HOP!, Loganair Limited and Air Dolomiti appear on certain itineraries as regional carriers handling smaller segments of the journey.

Coming in after dark at Landvetter means you will need to arrange transport from the airport rather than walking into the city centre yourself. The airport sits roughly twenty kilometres outside Gothenburg with bus services and taxi options available throughout the day and night. If your flight arrives late, check that public transport still runs or book a ride in advance since options narrow down considerably after midnight. Landvetter is well signposted for arrivals so finding your way to ground transportation should not cause delays even without local language skills.

• Verify which airport serves as your departure point when booking tickets, though Birmingham currently operates from one main facility only.
• Check whether your fare includes checked luggage before arriving at check-in if you are carrying more than a carry-on bag.
• Confirm that connecting flights appear on the same ticket rather than separate bookings to avoid missing your onward journey.
• Ensure your travel documents meet Swedish entry requirements especially during peak holiday periods when border checks may be tighter.
• Consider whether April pricing fits your schedule since it represents one of the lower-cost windows for this route.
