Cheap flights from Berlin to Warsaw

September is the cheapest month on this route, and the fares here are dated so you can see how the rest of the year compares. Late spring and early autumn are the calmest for city trips: mild weather in both capitals, no big holiday rush. Summer and the run-up to Christmas push prices up, especially around German and Polish public holidays and school breaks. Midweek departures are usually quieter than Friday evenings and Sunday nights, when people shuttle between the two capitals for work. Book a few weeks ahead for low-cost seats; full-service fares move less, but the cheap buckets go first.

Wizz Air, Easyjet and Eurowings are the low-cost names here, with the tightest baggage rules: cabin bag only unless you pay for a checked piece. LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Austrian, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and its KLM Cityhopper regional arm fly as full-service carriers, where a checked bag and a drink are usually part of the ticket. Warsaw has two airports, and they are not interchangeable. F. Chopin sits close to the centre, a short ride by bus, tram or taxi, and handles most of the traffic, including the full-service carriers. Modlin is further out to the north and mostly serves low-cost flights, so allow extra time for the transfer. From Chopin, trains and several bus lines run into town; from Modlin, shuttle buses and coaches meet the arrivals. Both have car hire and ride-hailing pickup. Watch late arrivals: buses thin out after midnight, and a taxi from Modlin costs noticeably more than from Chopin.
