Cheap flights from Amsterdam to Lublin

October is the month to aim for here, and the fare calendar fills in from September through February, so you get a run of months to compare before you commit. Late summer is still busy, and things settle once the school holidays are over. Around Christmas and New Year seats go early, so book well ahead if you have to travel then. Midweek departures usually cost less than weekend ones, and early morning or late evening connections tend to be quieter.

Nobody flies Schiphol to Lublin nonstop, so every itinerary pairs two carriers or two legs of the same one. Easyjet is the low-cost name in the mix, which normally means a bare fare with bags charged on top. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines are the full-service choices you will see most often, and connections frequently run through a hub such as Warsaw, which is also served from Amsterdam. Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines, Air Dolomiti, Air Baltic, TAP Portugal, Turkish Airlines and El Al Israel Airlines also turn up on results. Check what each fare includes before you compare totals.

Lublin's airport is a small regional one, so you land, pick up your bag and you are outside quickly. The centre is a straightforward ride by taxi or ride-hailing car, and bus links run into town, so check the timetable that matches your arrival, since evening services thin out. If a late connection gets you in after dark, sort your transfer before you fly rather than at the kerb. Only one airport serves the city, so there is no risk of landing at the wrong one. Schiphol, by contrast, is a large hub, so leave time for the walk to your gate.

• Every itinerary from Schiphol to Lublin involves a connection, so check the layover length and whether both legs sit on one ticket.
• Amsterdam departs from Schiphol only, so confirm your airport before you set off for the terminal.
• If the first leg is a low-cost fare, add up the cabin and checked bag charges before comparing totals.
• On separate tickets you carry your own bags between flights and nobody rebooks you if the first leg runs late.
• Bring a passport or identity card valid for travel to Poland and check the current entry rules.
• Fares move with the season, so compare September through February before you commit.
