Getting to the city

Zurich Airport sits close enough to the city that the train is usually the simplest way in: services run from the airport station to the main rail hub, and onward connections reach most of Switzerland. Taxis and rental cars are there as well, and they make more sense if you are heading somewhere the rail network does not cover. Build in extra time in the morning and late afternoon, when commuters and business travellers share the roads and the platforms. If you land late, look up the last train before you decide, rather than assuming a taxi will be quick.
