Santorini JTR
Thira has no other airport, so every flight in and out of the city uses Santorini (JTR). Cheap flights from Santorini are easiest to find by comparing fares across nearby dates and checking what each ticket actually includes. Airlines on these routes set their own rules on baggage, seats and changes, so two fares at a similar price can cover very different things. The airport's popular links include Budapest, Athens, Krakow, Warsaw, Bucharest, Chisinau, Palermo and Rome.

Getting to the city
Santorini (JTR) is the only airport in Thira, so every transfer converges on a single point and the real question is how you cover the road in and out. Taxis, buses and hire cars are the usual options; in school holidays and the destination's summer, plan extra time for both directions. On the return, leave a margin for check-in and security rather than cutting it close.
