Liverpool John Lennon LPL
Cheap flights from Liverpool begin at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL), the city's only airport in the United Kingdom. There is no second airport in Liverpool, so every departure uses LPL. Popular routes from LPL include Barcelona, Faro, Porto, Szczecin, Alicante, Dublin, Madrid and Milan. The airlines and fare inclusions at LPL vary by route and date, so check the fare rules before you book. LPL serves European destinations, and the journey into Liverpool city centre can take longer at busy times, so allow extra time.

Getting to the city
The fastest way into Liverpool is usually the airport bus or a taxi, depending on traffic. The bus follows a direct route to the city centre, while a taxi avoids waiting and suits groups or late arrivals. Allow extra time at peak periods, because the route can slow down. If you land late, check the last bus before you travel and keep a taxi as backup. Do not leave your return journey to the last minute, since roadworks or queues can add delay.
