Gatwick LGW
Cheap flights from London Gatwick start with knowing which London airport you are actually flying from. Gatwick, coded LGW, is one of the group that serves the capital, together with Heathrow, Stansted, Luton and London City, and it carries a steady flow of European traffic. Krakow, Warsaw, Budapest, Paris, Amsterdam, Chisinau, Nice and Milan are among the destinations that come up most often, so it works for a short break as well as a city visit. Check the fares by date before you commit.

Getting to the city
Trains are the usual way between Gatwick and central London, running into the main London stations through the day. Coaches and taxis cover the same trip, and driving means the motorway plus airport parking. Allow extra time at peak hours, and check the last connection of the day before you book a late arrival. If you are switching between London airports, treat it as a separate journey — Heathrow, Stansted, Luton and London City are not next door to Gatwick.
